A Note About Props
When it comes to learning to improvise joyously, I recommend that you forgo the use of props for now. Veil
is an exception. However, swords, candelabras, and other balanced props will slow you down in this endeavor. Save them for performance.
Zils will also slow you down til you have gotten to the point of both improvising without thought, plus playing zils on autopilot.
I have found, when teaching beginners, that nothing will get them improvising faster than giving them a veil and letting them go.
I expect that this is partly because they are focused on the pretty floating veil and not on the hips that still seem awkward to them.
